Yellow Porsche Colors

Porsche has produced 32 distinct yellow colors across every generation from the 356 to the 992. This page is the complete index — every factory yellow paint code, every PTS yellow, with hex values, model availability, and the years each color was offered.

About yellow Porsche colors

Porsche yellows include factory Speed Yellow, Racing Yellow, the rare Signal Yellow, and brighter PTS options like Acid Green-leaning yellows. They are most associated with the 996/997 GT3 and modern 991/992 GT cars.

History of yellow in the Porsche catalog

Yellow became a signature GT-car color with the launch of Racing Yellow on the 996 GT3. Speed Yellow has carried through every generation since. Earlier Light Yellow and Talbot Yellow showed up on the 911 SC and Carrera 3.2 in small numbers. Through PTS, Porsche has revived several historical yellows from the 1970s catalog.

Frequently asked questions

How many yellow Porsche colors are there?

Our database currently tracks 32 yellow Porsche paint colors, including 2 that are exclusive to the Paint to Sample (PTS) program. The count grows as we document additional historical and PTS-only shades.

What is the most iconic yellow Porsche color?

Among yellow Porsche colors, the most recognizable depends on the era — early air-cooled cars, the impact-bumper era, the water-cooled generation, and modern PTS commissions each have their own benchmark colors. Browse the full list below to see them ordered by year and model availability.

Can I order a yellow Porsche through Paint to Sample?

Yes. 2 of the yellow colors in our database are part of the current PTS catalog — meaning they're pre-approved and can be ordered on most current 911, 718, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, and Taycan models for the standard PTS upcharge. See the PTS-only section below.

Do yellow Porsches hold their value?

Color affects resale on a model-by-model basis. Certain yellow colors — especially low-production factory shades and well-chosen PTS commissions on GT cars — can carry significant premiums in the collector market. Volume-era yellow colors trade closer to baseline.

What's the difference between solid, metallic, and special yellow finishes?

Solid finishes use single-stage paint and have a flatter, denser appearance. Metallic finishes contain aluminum flake for depth and shift in changing light. Special finishes — including pearl, chromaflair, and certain PTS specials — use additional pigment layers for more pronounced color shift. Use the finish filter on this page to compare.
