The most famous Porsche orange is Signal Orange (code 1414) on the 1972–1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7 — arguably the single most desirable color on the most desirable production 911 ever built. Continental Orange and Tangerine appeared on the same generation. Orange faded out of the catalog in the 1980s and didn't return seriously until Lava Orange launched on the 991-era GT cars and the 718 Cayman/Boxster.
